In 2013, Lockn’ Festival made it’s debut with one of the most killer rock lineups that the world has ever seen, and this year they somehow managed to create an even better roster of jam’s elite artists. With Woodstock as the picture that most festival organizers these days are trying to paint, Lockn’ is going to be the closest that you can get. This September in Arrington, Virginia, will be the only festival of the year with overlap between performers and patrons and the iconic fest of 1969, including performances from surviving Grateful Dead members in Phil Lesh & Friends, Further, and Bob Weir & RatDog.
Lockn’ 2014 is already shaping up to be one for the books. The Allman Brothers Band will be performing one of their final sets together as they close out an incredible career of 40 plus years. Keller Williams will be playing two unique set concepts called “Grateful Gospel” featuring More Than A Little with John Kadlecik and “Grateful Grass” featuring Jeff Austin and Keith Moseley. String Cheese Incident will also be mixing it up with a funky tribute set to Kool and The Gang named very appropriately, String Cheese and The Gang.
Let’s not forget about jam heavy hitters Umphrey’s McGee, Widespread Panic, Grace Potter and The Nocturnals, and Tedeschi Trucks Band as well as legendary performers including Willie Nelson, Wilco, and Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers.
Lockn’ Festival will be held on Oak Ridge Farm in Arrington, Virginia, this September 4-7, 2014. General admission tickets run $285 for all four days, $109 for Thursday and Friday only, and $129 for Saturday and Sunday only. The festival is running an amazing discount for students with a tier of 4 day passes available for only $180 with a valid school ID. VIP tickets are also available for $799 each.
