After selling out of 3-day passes at a record speed, Chicago’s Lollapalooza officially announced its full 2013 lineup today (a portion of which is shown above). Perry’s Stage hosted an incredible lineup of EDM artists last year, including EDM stars Zedd, Madeon, Porter Robinson, Bassnectar, Nero, Calvin Harris, Zeds Dead, Big Gigantic, and Kaskade. Plus Avicii and Justice jammed on the Bud Light stage with the skyscrapers of Chicago directly behind them. It was pretty epic.
While Lolla’s headliners are a strong group this year, the electronic music representatives are powerful but relatively less impressive than last year. To name a couple of the bigger acts, Lolla 2013 will host:
Steve Aoki, Flux Pavillion, Dillon Francis, Modestep, Disclosure, Steve Angello, Dada Life, Baauer, Griz, Adventure Club, Major Lazer, Knife Party, Dog Blood, Art Department, and Alvin Risk (basically, it looks like the OWSLA crew got in bed with Lolla’s organizers).
With one-day passes on sale on Wednesday, April 3, for a price of $95, you may be looking over this schedule and asking yourself, what day should I attend?! We weigh in after the break.
WhiteRaverRafting recommends attending Sunday if you’re only going to one day of Lollapalooza. Dog Blood is emerging as the must-see collaboration this summer, and you know that you can’t resist the insanity of Knife Party and Major Lazer shows. Throw in the dubstep directions of Alvin Risk, Kill the Noise, and even Alex Clare (whose ‘Too Close’ was produced by Diplo), and Sunday is undoubtedly the best value for your $95.
