Thursday 27th April will see Shoreditch club Village Underground welcome Unleash London to present a screening of the documentary Raving Iran. The film will unveil Tehran’s underground electronic music scene and the story of techno DJ’s Anoosh and Arash that make up the Iranian duo Blade & Beard.
Directed by Susanne Regina Meures, the documentary enters the oppressive world of music in the Middle Eastern country where the sound is very different, and somewhat heavier than what we are used to with European tracks.
As this is a charity event, all proceeds will go to the national charity for the homeless, Crisis, and attendees will also see Blade & Beard’s first performance in the UK and a Q&A with the artists.
