When Lorin closed Night Two of Red Rocks in 2014 with “This Is The End” by The Doors everyone reluctantly believed that it truly was the last time we’d see that long hair flowing over the decks on stage while bass blasted out speakers into the mountains. Given the recent complaints and subsequent restrictions that the Rocks will be enforcing on artists all followers of the Bass Wizard didn’t think that Lo would agree upon the curfews and sound system constraints. These questions still remain at large and we expect Lorin and crew to address them before he takes the stage.
Joining Nectar is a star-studded, diverse lineup that will perfectly compliment the madness that Lorin is going to throw down. There are recent collaborators G Jones and Joker plus electro hip-hop/soul Late Night Radio joining him for night one. We’re stunned to see OG UK dub member Benga coming out of retirement to hit the decks with Son of Kick (who joined Lo on some stops for the 2014 NSVB Fall Tour) and Jacklndn for bring in some creative house. Night three features two of WRR’s favorites Nightmares on Wax and Lindsay Lowend along with the eclectic tunes of Eskmo.
Although this has cleared up the biggest question of “Is Lorin going back to Red Rocks in 2015?” there still loom a bunch of mysteries that fans will be clamoring for answers to. Last year were two and a half hour sets both nights, how long are the sets going to be now that it’s three nights? Last year W. Darling gave a live performance during “You & Me” and there was live guitar on “Underwater” if my memory serves me. Who will be the special guests Lo is talking about?
Most importantly, how are Lorin and his crew going to respond to the new rules that Red Rocks is imposing? How late will he be allowed to play and will he be turning down the bass? We located the list of rules and regulations for Tipper’s show in May that you can check out here. We have to assume the same rules apply for Bassnectar. Keep it locked to WRR for all the updates and news regarding Red Rocks, and of course, Bassnectar.
