As Camp Bisco’s weekend came to a close, rumors began to swirl about what exactly happened during the end of Lotus’ set. As the band played “Middle Road,” Baauer‘s LD apparently cut the power to downstage and left them relying on the drums to suffice the mid-dance crowd. Fortunately, it worked and created a most unique experience for attendees.

Lotus’ set was scheduled to run from 12:30am – 2:00am. The group took stage at 12:32 and were cut off at 1:58am. Fans were angry and took to the web in order to express themselves:

It’s refreshing to see such positive reactions from an unfortunate situation like this. The problem may well have been that Bisco didn’t have the proper on-site stagehands managing set transitions (otherwise this might have never happened in the first place).
Still though, these Lotus fans managing to appreciate the transpiring percussive jam for what it was is a thing of beauty. It may have disrupted the set but it will forever define that performance – an experience all in attendance can share for years to come. The lesson to be learned is this: Shit happens. You can either bitch about it or be the one with enough depth to depict a more profound meaning.
