Due to intense flooding in the Denver, Colorado area, the highly-anticipated Lotus at Red Rocks show, originally scheduled for September 13th, has now been rescheduled for October 4th. Damaging floods in the area- with five fatalities already recorded, and over 1000 persons unaccounted for- have ravaged the Denver area and surrounding municipalities, affecting 15 counties. While Red Rocks itself was not flooded, they had to make the decision to postpone the event due to issues beyond their control. They made this statement via their Facebook profile:
Due to recent storms and severe flooding throughout many areas in Colorado and along the Front Range, tonight’s Lotus show has been postponed until Friday, October 4th. For those who cannot attend the new date refunds are available at point of purchase.
This is unfortunate to have been declared on the day of the event, with many having come from outside the state to attend. However, it was in the best interest and safety of everyone that Red Rocks cancel the event for the night, with refunds being given. Contrary to the event’s flyer, however, is that Minnesota will not be able to make the new date.
There has been no announcement as to if there will be a replacement for Minnesota or not. However, Minnesota and Break Science played a benefit event for those affected by the flooding on the 13th (the night of the Lotus show) with Samples and Sunsquabi. All proceeds from the event went towards the United Way Flood Relief Fund. Two members of Lotus also played a benefit concert that same night in Denver, with proceeds going towards the American Red Cross.
Tickets can be refunded at point of purchase. Some tickets are still available; grab them here.
