It’s always nice to begin the day with a revitalizing track. You wake up early, put the needle on the record, and take launch. This simple equation has been known to stimulate the soul in the most charming way, time after time. Written and produced by Australian native Loure, “Vue” is this exact type of track. It comes off his most recent EP, Westside Movements, released in April of 2017 on Parisian label Noir & Blanche.
While “Vue” is our top pick, the entirety of the EP it lives on is incredible, and one you’re going to want to listen to on repeat. What makes Westside Movements so special is its live instrumental integration into each track. Smooth trumpet embellishments adorn the entire album from start to finish to create a disparate experience enjoyed by its listener. And the fact that it was released on Noir & Blanche, a label with impeccable taste, makes this EP all the more special. Westside Movements begins with “In The Evenings,” a smooth track that will act as a transition into the EP and foreshadow the music to come. It introduces a melodic trumpet and light crash cymbals. These elements will be the foundation for the tracks to come. Next is “Keep It Real,” again, bringing in that smooth trumpet but now with added and more up-beat drums involved, elevating us into a more excited state. Further along into the album, the track “Step In” is really the initial kick-off to what Loure is capable of in the studio. The name says it all; you’re going to want to “step into this” EP immediately.
Now, the track we’ve all been waiting to hear more about – “Vue.” Here, Loure starts us off smooth once more, but this time he teases us into what will be the feature track of this EP. It showcases that feel-good house vibe we all love, including solid samples and an undeniable groove. Finally, producer Hidden Spheres makes a special appearance on a remix for “In The Evenings,” which will act as the send-off track for Westside Movements. Smooth and soulful, it is a perfect shift into the rest of your day.
