Several days ago Angelz, who is notorious for epic edits, unleashed a rework of Lupe Fiasco & Jill Scott’s “Daydreamin.” The joint comes to us as a free download, with no surprise, and hosts all of the party-rocking G House quantities that American dance culture is slowly, but surely falling in love with.
Angelz’s edit landed at 70,000 Soundcloud plays on February 27th and since has skyrocketed to over 100,000. Similar to all his other releases, this one was very well received by his fan base. The classic pitch down on the vocals fits Lupe’s voice well and blends effortlessly with the gritty, groovy bassline. The vocal samples used throughout enhance this record, giving it a unique flavor. Though, perhaps the most compelling element is the percussive structure which seemingly pulls every layer together, completing the project.
