Lupe comes at this Nero track pretty hard, with political suggestions and deep connotations all familiar with Lupe’s style. He starts out with a local news sample mentioning the recent police brutality at UC Davis, setting a tone preceding his lyrics. Some rappers just can’t nail these heavy EDM tracks but I think he does a damn good job. The flow is unique to the beat and the delivery is what clicks everything together.
Fiasco dropped this on Thanksgiving and even gives a “Happy Thanksgiving” wish at the end. I love him because he always keeps it real like this and always stays true to what he feels. He is a lyricist that I believe embodies the mind of a true musician.
