Magnetic Music Festival really popped up on our radar out of nowhere and to be honest we didn’t know what to think. We knew that Liquified was behind the event and that they were going to bring the top notch production that they’re known for, but what would the lineup look like?
There are “pop up” festivals appearing all over as people look to cash-in on the EDM craze. Magnetic is not another pop-up. With a lineup boasting Kid Cudi, Dash Berlin, Zeds Dead, Flux Pavilion, Flosstradamus and more in one day… it’s kind of unbelievable that this festival is only in its first year.
Here’s who we’re stoked to catch at Magnetic.
1.) Kid Cudi
Aside from the fact that Man on the Moon may be the defining album for our generation, it’s Scott Mescudi’s personality and presence that make him the #1 draw.
Cudi is a superstar. He doesn’t have to rely on the regular hip hop verbage, nor does he romp around on stage proclaiming “this isn’t just a show it’s a party”. The party comes naturally, but it’s not overblown like you might think. You’ll find yourself relating verses to your own life and coming out of it better than before.
I just saw Kid Cudi at The Buku Project a little over a month ago and this is still the number one set for me. That and his new album drops tomorrow.
2.) Adventure Club
We haven’t heard a lot of new music from Adventure Club lately, only stories of Leighton and Yasmine’s romance. That’s a good thing though because I expect that they’ll be debuting a ton of new music. If their Superhuman Mix they just released is any indication of the set we’re going to hear… well you can figure that one out for yourself.
3.) Dash Berlin
He’s one of my favorite trance dj’s, it’s rare that you’ll catch a set from Dash this far south of the Mason-Dixon (Miami doesn’t count). If his set time conflicts with any of the dubstep acts, it’s going to be an experience that you may never find again.
4.) Flosstradamus
The hoodie boyz of Flosstradamus might heil from Chicago but they’ll always be more than welcomed in the South. Hip hop from Atlanta lead to the birth of the trap genre and this set will be one of the biggest of Magnetic. Get there early, secure your spot and prepare to rage.
5.) Cazzette
After debuting their album on Spotify, Ash Pournouri has taken Cazzette over to his new label PRMD (pronounced pyramid) and will be releasing it in a joint venture with Def Jam Records. They’ll be bringing their signature version of dub-house, but I will be waiting to hear their “Alcoholic” trap remix.
Tickets for Magnetic are still available but are on the final tier with a high rate to sell out. I would purchase yours now because you won’t see a show like this in the southeast for a while, well at least until TomorrowWorld.
