Magnetic Music Festival was scheduled to return in 2014 bigger than before, but it looks like those plans have been postponed.
A statement from the festival’s facebook page says,
MAGNETIC MUSIC FESTIVAL ANNOUNCEMENT:
Dear fans, Due to circumstances beyond our control and our commitment to providing the best possible experience for fans, Magnetic Music Festival has been postponed for 2014. We will be issuing full refunds to anyone who has already purchased advanced tickets.
Even though it’s a letdown for the people who had already purchased tickets, at least they gave fans enough notice so that they didn’t already have travel plans booked.
I attended Magnetic last year and was thoroughly impressed by the production at the one day festival, even though Kid Cudi acted like a diva and ruined his own set.
CounterPoint Reigns Supreme in the South
I don’t think it’s a stretch to assume that Magnetic’s ticket sales were taking a substantial hit from CounterPoint Music Festival scheduled for April 25 – 27 in nearby Kingston Downs, Georgia.
Even though CP was replaced by TomorrowWorld in 2013, the loyalty for the festival is absolutely off the charts. All of the different EDM groups that I’m in are buzzing with CP news and rumors about who’s going to be on the lineup.
Today’s news of Outkast hitting over 40 festivals this summer made the Coachella lineup a little less special, but amped up the speculation that Big Boi would return to CP and bring Andre 3000 along with him.
Is this a teaser of what’s coming?
