Major Lazer teases fans of their new album set to debut February 25th with their latest collaboration piece that includes the likes of Pharrell Williams and Azaela Banks. Neither of the artists on the track are strangers to electronic music and with a few hits already on Beatport, their contribution to the Major Lazer sound was an easy one.
Pharrell’s fire tongue shot through the constant rhythmic drums like an unbridled machine gun. There are few rap artists beyond Pharrell that I can imagine with the same smooth powerful voice that laced this beat with dynamite. Azaela’s contribution was just a drop in the ocean on this one but as Mother Teresa would say, “If the drop were not there, the ocean would be missing something” and I don’t mean drops of the musical sort. This one diverges from the formulaic EDM sound by losing the drop and allowing for that steady uninterrupted beat to just effortlessly flow.
