Manatee Commune’s “I Can Dream,” is as eased as the title gives away. Soft drum machine beats and soft plucked arpeggios fill the air as the gentle vocals soon scoop you up. As more instruments come in to fill the drop, a content feeling washes over. “I Can Dream” is introverted while upbeat as impossible as that sounds, the combination coming off catchy and comfortable.
Manatee Commune dominates the light, chill side of electronic music that brushes up against the edge of indie-folk. California can be a hot-bed for these type of sounds, Manatee Commune is a staple example of tweaking all the bells and whistles just right to take full-advantage of this niche.
