Any of you that know me know that I’ve been an Atmosphere fan for god knows how long. Sean Daley AKA Slug is an emcee – if the current state of hip hop knows one at all. Naturally, I was excited but apprehensive when I saw this Manic Focus track sampling one of his lesser known, earlier works from 1997. He takes samples from “Sound Is Vibration”, which was from the first studio album released by Slug called “Overcast!” (Rhymesayers).
The result is an easy going almost electrosoulhiphop interpretation to the original that would probably put a smile on Ant’s face – a seamless vibe throughout. I couldn’t help but think Pretty Light Music label as I listened to this. What do you guys think?
