We’ve all experienced it. During festival season our pockets empty out, but our minds get filled with great memories. Every fest head has probably wondered what would happen if they snuck into a festival. I’m sure I’m not the only person in the history of festivals who has snuck into VIP or the artist compound, but in my defense, I did buy my initial ticket.
Meet a guy who has broken into not one, not two, but FIFTY festivals in the past four years. Marcus Haney initially snuck into Coachella in 2010 to meet up with his crush. After his thrilling weekend in the Indio Valley, the festival bug bit him and Marcus started sneaking into festivals such as Bonnaroo, Glastonbury, and even The Grammy’s.
His new documentary, No Cameras Allowed, follows Marcus’ journey through various festivals and shows us how exactly he got front row viewing into these highly secured events including jumping unsecured fences and sneaking through a port-a-potty. He’s mostly noted by sneaking in as press at Bonnaroo, catching some great moments and sending it in to ‘Roo, and eventually heading on tour with some of his favorite bands.
Marcus’ documentary, No Cameras Allowed, premiered on July 23 at The Withern in L.A. He has not announced any distribution of the documentary or any other screenings of the film, but we are hoping we can some day catch this exhilarating documentary on the small screen. Vice’s Noisy has interviewed Marcus for an in-depth analysis on why he breaks into shows and how he does it. Check out the trailer for No Cameras Allowed and please do not try this at your next fest.
