A friend of mine from JMU recently suggested I reach out to a guy at his school by the name of Stefan Jobe, who he considered to be a figurehead of electronic dance music around the area. I obliged and turns out it was a great move.
Stefan introduced me to his artist Markus Cole, a 17 year-old skilled producer and industry bright light out of Toronto. Cole purveys a predominate prog-house style matched with methodical molding of some funky electro riffs throughout his work.
The featured track ‘Ghost’ is his most recent release. First thoughts: sublime melodies pair nicely with the progressive buildups and eerie synths. Solid production top to bottom. I know it’s our mission to include downloads but I was asked to hold off on this one in particular by sound reason and personal request.
In lieu, I’ve provided two bonus tracks for download. ‘Take Me There’ is probably my favorite production from Markus probably due to my sweet spot for house vocals. Nonetheless, the production wreaks of talent and I’m proud to feature these sounds from a kid who’s still dicking around high school cafeterias and bantering with the lunch ladies.
