Markus Schulz has delivered once again, this time with his latest mix compilation Buenos Aires 13. This two-disc compilation takes listeners through Markus’ personal journey in South America’s dance music capital and a place that is very special to him. Not only was he personally invited to perform for the country’s Bicentennial celebrations, it was also where he mixed his ground-breaking set for almost 15 hours. Buenos Aires was a city in which he accomplished many highlights and triumphs during his career, and wanted to share those experiences with fans through this two-disc mix compilation.
Fans of trance music will cite that it isn’t about the “drops” or “bangers”, but the journey and where the music takes them. Moments after pressing play, listeners will hear the immense dedication, thought, and time put into crafting this experience. The first album introduces the atmosphere of wonder and inspiration, and gradually builds up for the musical energy to follow. The intricate melodies alongside progressive beats gradually prepare listeners to be swept away into the realm where dance music takes over.
For the second album, Markus turns up the heat and the energy to take listeners through a climax of progressive beats higher and higher until the final burst of energy. He then glides listeners back to reality with soothing melodies. Included with this mix compilation are several of his original tracks and remixes, like his collaboration with ultra-talented Rex Mundi entitled “Toward the Sun” or his sultry remix of Solarstone’s “Solarcoaster”. He has also given fans a listen to his track “Remember This”, a teaser for his upcoming album Scream 2, which will be released in 2014.
