On Friday June 21st, 2013 we witnessed yet another Dutch house up-and-comer tear up the electronic dance music scene. At the age of 16, Martin Garrix has become the youngest artists to top Beatport’s charts. By now you must know his record “Animals”, which was officially released on June 17th via Spinnin’ Records. It has quickly made waves within the festival circuit – even before its release – and producers/DJs have been talking about it all over Twitter.
We recently pegged Garrix as one of the “The Marketing Machines Behind New Wave of EDM Superstars” and this achievement solidifies and justifies why we did. I’m sure this will be one of many chart-topping tunes for the youngster. He’s already worked on massive collaborations with the likes of Sidney Samson, Dillon Francis, and Julian Jordan. I can see many more projects with big names in his future.
