This might just be the best Animals remix you’ve heard to date… Amongst the plethora of remixes for Martin Garrix’ highly-successful, and highly-overplayed big room house tune, 18 year old Dutch producer Oliver Heldens has really taken it in a different direction, having completely transformed the original into a grooving deep-house banger. In contrast to the majority of previous Animals remixes, which took the go-to routes of festival trap, electro-house, or loud dubstep, Heldens takes a bit of a classier approach to the tune, with crisp melodies voiced in rich, vibrant synths, and a warm sub-bass. However, the most notable feature of this remix is arguably the fact that Heldens omitted most of Garrix’ original melody, keeping only the characteristic ‘clicking’ noise, then cleverly revamping the rest of the track’s existing elements.
Oliver Heldens will definitely be one to watch this year, with his striking deep-house single entitled “Gecko”, currently holding the number 3 spot in the Beatport Top 10 on Musical Freedom. While still adapted for festivals, this remix radiates some underground vibes, and will definitely get electronic music fans grooving on dance floors everywhere this festival season!
