Although it’s just in Belgium, Martin Garrix’s “Animals” has achieved gold status and the young producer was presented with a nice shiny plaque. It’s too bad that they play count doesn’t include the bootlegs, remixes and drops at festivals around the world because if then it would probably be platinum.
Where Garrix’s career goes from here is yet to be seen, but as he is one of the next wave of dance music stars we would expect to see some major collaborations from him coming out soon. It will be interesting whether he makes the push with more commercial music to appeal to the American market (ie collab with Krewella) or continues to produce in his own way.
Regardless, Garrix is an exciting talent and one we’ll be watching for quite some time.
