Talk about a happy new year — Matador just announced he’ll be jet-setting off to the US for his January 2018 North America Tour. Over the course of nine-days straight through, the Dublin techno legend will be touching down in nine cities, including Toronto, NYC, Miami, Phoenix, San Francisco and more. Fans can expect to hear hours of utterly relentless, minimal-tech and his signature sound that cleverly uses melodic leads, cinematic soundscapes, and a thumping low-end. As he embarks on this 216 hour spiral down the rabbit hole, we can imagine it’s going to be one hell of a ride.
While there’s too many Matador tracks to love, one of his latest works we’ve been obsessing over is possibly his most creatively-driven work to date, Ramaha. This five-track EP is booming with concoctions of vintage sounds, hammering drums, heavy drops, avant-garde sci-fi textures, and true-to-style Matador punches.
