It’s not easy trying to balance music that looks back while remaining so future-facing. There’s no denying there’s an air of 80’s synth pop influence in the latest single from Norwegian producer Maybon’s “Better With You.”
Picked up for release by Sony Music Norway, the track sees the Norwegian producer close out 2018 on a high note and also finishes off what will also be part of a wider EP release featuring all of Maybon’s prior releases this year. Its moody undertones come from the classic retro sounds written by Maybon while the vocals from featured artist Temmpo create further atmospheric strides. This allows “Better With You” to flourish organically on its on high quality musical merits.
