Attention dance music fans: have you heard of McDowell Mountain Music Festival?
It’s a three-day event held at Margaret T. Hance Park in downtown Phoenix, Arizona from March 27th to 29th. Now, you might be asking yourself: how is this festival different from others? Well, for starters it’s completely non-profit and all proceeds go directly to charity.
This year the beneficiaries are Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation and UMOM New Day Center, which provides homeless families and individuals with safe shelter, housing and supportive services.
Fun-fact: Over the years MMMF has raised more than one-million-dollars in funds for charity.
“This festival is a party for the people. It’s a community effort, engaging music enthusiasts to come out to enjoy an eclectic mix of talents and also to support notable charities in the Valley.” – John Largay, President of Wespac Construction
Secondly, it isn’t your traditional dance music show, though it hosts several electronic acts of different varieties and encourages music lovers to expand their tastes. This year’s lineup boasts Widespread Panic, Passion Pit, Thievery Corporation, Phantogram, Portugal. The Man, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Beats Antique, Trampled by Turtles, StrFkr, Robert Delong, and Break Science.
Several acts on that list are WhiteRaverRafting favorites, including Break Science and Beats Antique, to name a few. Obviously this event is a “can’t miss,” especially if you’re in the Phoenix area.
