Medina has had great success with her international single ‘You & I’ from the US to the UK, appearing on radio shows and dance music charts. Her last album, ‘Welcome to Medina‘, had six singles that entered the ‘Top 100’ airplay charts. If you were lucky enough to catch her at venues like Marquee in Las Vegas, or Supper Club in LA, you’d know why producers Trentemøller and Roger Sanchez supported her US club tour. There is no question that Medina’s career is reaching new heights. She is Denmark’s biggest female artist, a multi-platinum selling performer who has won a MTV Award for Best Danish Act, along with winning the Fashion Icon Award in both 2010 and 2011.
With that being said, Medina has come out with another album titled ‘Forever’, which has a Danish counterpart, ‘For altid’ (‘For altid’ means ‘For Always,’ and the English translation is ‘Forever’). The English version of the album was released on June 1st via EMI. The leading track — also titled ‘Forever’ — has an electronic feel with a heavy pop influence. The English album features ten original songs along with three tunes that were directly translated from ‘For altid,’ and for a good reason. The single ‘For altid‘ hit number one on the Danish Singles Chart. In a very international world of music, Medina has already gained recognition, and her talent keeps us coming back for more.
Yesterday, August 21, Ultra Music released a remix package of ‘Forever,’ where producers Tagteam Terror, Jean Elan, DJ Tonka, and Svenstrup & Vendelboe showcase their creativity and skill. I can promise you this is some of the best house music you’ll hear all year. Medina’s vocals are killer over the beautiful melodies and unique sounds that the producers provide. She is making a huge name for herself in the male-dominated electronic dance music scene. Stay tuned for more of her singles and albums.
