Hard-hitting track Megalodon, dropped by an artist whose identity has not yet been revealed, was released yesterday by Spinnin’ Records via SoundCloud. For those who aren’t familiar, Megalodon was the largest prehistoric shark that ever lived. With teeth twice as long as the Great White Shark, this horrifying predator had the most powerful bite of any known creature. The mystery DJ must have had this fact in mind, because the track’s build-up and subsequent drop are eerily reminiscent of the Megalodon’s bite, intense and effective. When the beat finally drops, you can’t help but dance.
There is a lot of speculation from commenters about the artist behind this track. The thumping bass suggests a Martin Garrix-type style, but the layered-synth driven culmination has Carnage written all over it. So much of what is popular today depends on the name of the DJ behind it, so if a track from an unreleased artist is able to get people dancing, half the battle has already been won.
