Following a short break since his late 2021 single “Ghost Walls” alongside CRÉME, Athens-based producer Mel Ody has finally made his anticipated return with “Kin.” The first in a series of independent singles Mel Ody is slated to release throughout 2022, “Kin” is the cultivation of the producer’s orchestral bass sound, a sonic identity that he has been carefully developing over the past couple of years.
Filled with gritty bass and eerie vocal chops, “Kin” is an auditory statement, bound to help transcend Mel Ody’s career to new heights in the immediate future. Purely instrumental, “Kin” kicks things off with washed-out synths and immersive atmospheres, before rhythmic claps and rumbling low and lead to an orchestral drop that shouldn’t be missed.
