On New Years Eve, party goers from all around LA gathered at the infamous Belasco Theater in Downtown LA to party one last time in 2018. With a jam-packed line-up, Minimal Effort was able to ring in the new year successfully with 8 hours of music, 5 dance floors, LED light installations, live painting, vendors, food, and plenty of confetti.
In the main theater, iconic Welsh DJ, Sasha played an extended 2.5 hour set as the countdown meter dropped to 0. Once the timer went off and 2019 kicked in, confetti and CO2 blasted in the air as fans cheered and gave each other new year’s kisses. Sasha played the perfect soundtrack to start the new year.
In the ballroom above the main theater, fans were treated as they entered into Will Clarke’s cuddle club. This dance floor had it’s own stacked lineup which featured Vnssa, Sam Van Horn B2B Danny Goliger, Justin Jay, Will Clarke, and Option4. The Cuddle Club was definitely a fun time.
And to end the whole night back in the main theater, influential dubstep producer, Skream, played a 2 hour closing set, which actually featured more techno than dubstep surprisingly.
After delivering to the techno crowd in Los Angeles for Halloween, Minimal Effort once again was able to successfully treat the same crowd at the Belasco Theater in Downtown LA. The theater was a perfect venue that housed 5 different dance floors so it never felt too crowded anywhere. We hope you all had a wonderful New Year and we hope Minimal Effort will return with more events soon!
