Dance music pioneer Moby will be releasing “Innocents” October 3, 2013 through Mute Records. The album marks the first time Moby has chosen to work with an outside producer as he brought in Mark “Spike” Stent, whose résumé includes Madonna, U2, Muse, Björk, and Massive Attack.
Other notable performers on the album will include Wayne Coyne (The Flaming Lips), Mark Lanegan, Cold Specks, Skylar Grey, Damian Jurado and Inyang Bassey. Moby has labeled them as “The Innocents”.
“I spend most of my time alone in my studio, so for Innocents it seemed like a really nice idea to involve other people in the making of the record. Working with all of these collaborators has helped me to make a record that I’m very proud of, and working this way also gave me some semblance of a social life…”
Moby has already previewed the first single “A Case For Shame” that’s available for download if you pre-order the album on iTunes. Maybe he’s expecting it to leak like every other release this year.
