Lisa Canny and DeJay Edmund are musicians from two very different worlds. Lisa is a seven-time All-Ireland champion on harp and banjo; DeJay is a church musician-turned-songwriter from the American Gospel arena. On paper, these two people would never meet. However, after the two met in a legendary London recording studio in May of 2016, MOM was born and the rest was history.
MOM itself stands for Meeting of Minds. Since the two have collided, the best way to describe MOM’s music is electro/acoustic rebel pop. To solidify this new and stellar partnership, MOM has recently released its new single, “Come By Me.” An endearing banjo introduces listeners to the two’s infectious vocals. The pair’s voices infuse together seamlessly, like the peanut butter and jelly of vocals. This single is one of those instances where the singers and the soundscapes balance one another perfectly, no one overpowering the other. After this killer track, I’m excited to see what else MOM will have cooking in the coming months. Listen on all platforms here.
