There’s a lack of niche TV altogether, with so many new categories of things thanks to the internet, more filmmakers should jump on the exciting, genuine moments that can happen within them. For dance music, it was only a matter of time until someone successfully captured our sub-culture realistically. “Momentum” is a new TV series that catalogs the trials and tribulations that happen within the American dance scene everyday with exquisite cinematic delivery.
The trailer teases a classic story of a DJ/producer, named Michael Morris, working his ass off at a day job and putting the in the production hours at night, then when he gets a little organized and gets his sound out there, the tune blows up really quickly within a week. The scene switches to a crowd of screaming fans waiting for the lead character to hop on the decks. There’s so much more drama the trailer gives beyond that, in such a short amount of time, but I won’t spoil everything.
A handful of supporting acts are featured as well – the entire trailer just makes you want to shout “Yes, finally!”
“Momentum” will begin this fall; the show was created by Michael C. Morello. More details about where to watch will be coming soon.
