Up-and-comer Monn delivered a perfect blend of old and new with his new release, ‘Birds of Love,’ out now via Armada Deep. This Dutch producer just came on the scene in 2016, but has already been blowing fans away with his unique twist on house music.
‘Birds of Love’ begins with a simple guitar melody, the sounds somewhat faded so as to provoke an oldies feel. We’re treated to the deep, rich voice of Holly Winter, reminiscent of the jazz singers of a long-gone era. Before we hit the minute mark, the beat kicks up a few notches and the horns come in, creating a fresh, modern-sounding dance track. It’s a fun and unique juxtaposition – lively enough to dance to but mellow enough to listen to while working or studying.
