After watching Skrillex and Dillon Francis’ “Coffee Run” with Deadmau5, I checked in on the DJ Skrillex briefly mentioned after getting picked up by Francis and Mau5: Moody Good. I see why Skrillex was pumped to talk about him during the ride – he’s incredible, even if you’re not a big fan of rap (like me) you’ll still get a “this is damn good new music” vibe that feels so good.
His new single on OWSLA, “Hotplate (feat. Knytro,)” starts out with a seemingly normal, Odd Future-style intro that suddenly roars with a raw, piercing bassline; immediately giving you a rush you’ve never felt before. Moody Good’s “Hotplate” has me genuinely excited about the future of electronic music.
