After the release of the The Life Aquatic LP late April of this year, US DJ Moon Boots has released three remix tracks to follow up. Drawing obvious inspiration from Wes Anderson’s iconic film The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and featuring artwork encapsulating a well-known scene from the film, Pete Dougherty produces a relaxed underground disco sound and provides an excellent accompaniment to the film.
The first track in this EP and the most popular so far, has been mixed by London based Throwing Snow, or Ross Tones. He retains the thumping beats that Moon Boots is known for, especially in The Life Aquatic, but transforms the track into a funky, somewhat house, sound.
The other two tracks have been mixed by original house record producer Ian Pooley who remains a favourite in the house, and techno, genres. These influences are also seen in the ‘Kreuz’ and ‘Berg’ remixes and both are updated for the dancefloor.
