One of Maryland’s most premiere music festivals is scheduled to touch down at Pimlico Race Course on August 12 & 13th. If you’ve ever had a desire to party on a horse racetrack then today is your lucky day! Moonrise festival transforms the race course into a festival paradise equipped with multiple stages and countless activities to indulge in. Last year’s Moonrise ended with a bang and featured artists like Marshmello, Bassnectar, Zedd, Mija, and Green Velvet. Not long ago we brought you the lineup for this year and we were nothing short of amazed. Phase one dropped artists like Big Gigantic, Slander, Carnage, Madeon, Yellow Claw, Morgan Page, Markus Schulz, and Rezz to name a few.
Shortly after the dropping of phase one came phase two with artists Kaskade, RL Grime, Migos, Boombox Cartel, Ganja White Night, and Snails. With the stacked lineup that Moonrise currently has we already know this year is going to be huge. However, today we will be shining the spotlight on a man who has been a staple in the electronic community for years now. He’s fought for us through thick and thin and is looked at as a role model by figures all across the electronic industry. That man is Ryan Raddon, aka Kaskade.
Kaskade first gained traction when progressive house began to break in the electronic scene between 2008-2010. He was at the forefront of the progressive scene and has collaborated with artists all across the electronic spectrum. He’s recently fresh off his Spring Fling tour that touched down in locations all across the North East and featured artists like Illenium and Medasin at supporting acts. Kaskade’s production style has generally been relative to progressive house, however that has never held him back.
He regularly performs his notorious redux sets which stem from his roots as an artist. They often feature his old, unreleased tracks and are intimate sets where he aims to connect with listeners. If you’re a lover of the progressive Kaskade then the redux set may not be your cup of tea. There are no explosive drops or any elements you’d expect in festival Kaskade set. It can consist of a variety of genres, however he will generally drop a mix of deep house, tech house, and future house.
On the other side of the spectrum are the tracks that you’ll hear at mostly every Kaskade set.
