With August just around the corner, we approach the yearly mark of Moonrise Music Festival. Moonrise’s first year came in 2013, although due to permit issues the first successful year of operation would be in 2014. Moonrise may have started out as a local festival, however it’s anything but that in 2017. Taking place on the famed Pimlico Race Course, Moonrise has transformed into one of Maryland’s most premiere music festivals. The festival regularly brings in some of the most popular producers in the industry with acts such as Tiesto, Bassnectar, The Chainsmokers, and Marshmello. This year we can expect no less, with headliners such as Excision, Pretty Lights, Carnage, and much more. The festival annually attracts some big names, however today we’ll be highlighting DJ and producer, Wingtip.
Brooklyn’s finest, Wingtip recently emerged into the electronic scene. With his presence has brought a diverse sound to electronic music. Wingtip splashed on to Soundcloud just over a year ago and has since garnered massive support. With tracks surpassing over 500k plays, it’s no surprise to see him popping up at festivals all over the nation. He’s fresh off a performance at Electric Forest and will be touching down at Electric Zoo and Lollapalooza in addition to Moonrise. Without further ado, let’s take a listen to some of our favorite Wingtip tracks.
His motto, “put your dancing shoes on”, depicts the main focus of his music. From his old tracks to his current, all of them send a sign of upbeat and feel good vibes. His tracks, like his motto, make a person want to let loose, smile, and of course dance. You can catch the man from Brooklyn on the second day of the festival.
