It’s the afternoon right before EDC Las Vegas Day One, and my crew and I have just returned from seeing Claude VonStroke at The Light Night Club no more than four hours ago. We’ve hit the breakfast buffet, went comatose for two hours, but now it was time to go. The sun was shining bright with a comfortable 97 degrees (it was 112 on Sunday to give you some perspective) outside at noon and it was time to get moving to Mandalay Bay’s daytime wonderland of Daylight Beach Club with the veteran DJ Morgan Page to prepare mind, body, and soul for the weekend ahead of us.
After clearing entry, you’re granted by an oasis bungalows with their own private fishbowl pools, day beds for days. Perfectly located within this utopia of people and excitement is a pool filled with people to the brim smacking beachballs from every angle back and forth in the deep end, and a shallow end about shin-deep for the ladies that didn’t want to have to get their hair did again before the evening. But the most iconic piece of the whole area is a full-size festival stage, arch-shaped with lights, lasers, visualizers, all elevated facing a huge dance floor that connected to the pool and partiers. No other beach club on the strip showcases artists like Daylight does, allowing everybody from any bungalow, daybed, or pool (unless currently being dunked) to see and hear it all from anywhere and everywhere.
If you haven’t heard of Morgan Page, then you must still be recovering from EDC Las Vegas. The American DJ has been in the game for quite some time and has the flexibility in style to satisfy any situation. And what do we want to hear at a Las Vegas pool party? We want to hear a set that gets everyone hyped, jumping, yellowing, splashing, and smiling under the desert son. And delivered were. A set infused with electro house, trance, big room, bass house, future house, trance, and everything high energy between. There is a reason that Morgan Page is a Grammy-winning artist, and next time, you need to find out yourself first-hand.
We would like to again thank all of the staff and promoters for Daylight Beach Club and we can’t wait to see what their lineup has in store for us next year!
