I’ll never forget the first time that I heard an Orbital track. I was 13 years old at the movie theater seeing Hackers staring Angelina Jolie and Jonny Lee Miller. The opening credits started playing “Halcyon and On and On” and I was immediately in love.
Orbital is made up of brothers Phil and Paul Hartnoll from Sevenoaks, England, Southeast of London. The name Orbital came from the London Beltway, the M25, a pivotal area in the early days of techno. During the 1990s, Orbital rode of a massive wave of success, pleasing both the critics and fans with movie scores, TV shows, and of course, loads of tracks.
For over 25 years, they have released tracks on over 15 labels, collaborated with numerous artists, had their tracks remixed into Progressive House, Hous, Drum & Bass, Breaks, Deep House, Tech House, you name it! But one of their greatest feats that set them apart is their live improvisation that keeps their fans intrigued, guessing, and always wanting more. To be performing live at Movement to the techno masses by such legends is an honor, and you can guarantee that it will be a packed house.
Check out some of our other favorite tracks below from Orbital, and we’ll see you in Hart Plaza for their performance!
