MTV Iggy, an outlet of MTV that features the describes itself as “best place to discover your next favorite artist”, has named New Zealand dubstep duo Mt. Eden as their “Artist To Watch” for the month of August. The two, who had meteoric success dating back to the beginning of the U.S. dubstep era with their Youtube hit “Sierra Leone”, released their second EP “Walking On Air” in June and continue to establish themselves as an icon in worldwide dubstep. Having international tours, being remixed by the likes of AraabMusik and Heroes and Villains, even having “Sierra Leone” featured in the recent movie “Elysium” is just a few accolades of this young duo.
Along with an interview, Mt. Eden played a special MTV Artist To Watch performance at Webster Hall in New York. The video below shows the chilling performance in great detail, even featuring a live female vocalist and a live band. This is a great achievement for a staple duo in EDM, and the sky is only the limit for the two kiwis of Mt. Eden. Be sure to check them out in a few weeks at Electric Zoo!
