Munchi recently eluded through social media his interest in taking a stab at trap. Considering he is one of the most respected names in moombahton, I was interested to see the direction he took and the means of interpretation. So the question remains. What did Munchi bring to the table?
For starters, this isn’t for the faint of hearted. If you can’t handle a little filth perhaps a bucket of popcorn and the 2nd season of Golden Girls digitally restored would better suit your needs. Choose to continue and you will bare witness to the most cosmopolitan collection of influences we’ve seen in trap. Munchi channels his moombah roots as “Skulltrap Vol I” oozes with a certain bouncy Latin flair. Most impressive was the new array of RAW synths and instruments he introduced to what has at times become an extremely repetitive genre. This is trap music like you’ve never heard it before. 100% in the b*tch.
