Calvin Harris, the beloved producer in the EDM and mainstream music community, has released a graphic visualization of the hit single “Thinking About You” featuring Ayah Marar. Spoiler alert: the video contains nudity, but not without online controversy fuming.
Here’s my stance: It’s an accomplishment in itself to achieve cross-cultural electronic music producer status whose had tons of #1 songs in a span of a couple of years. So why throw caution to the wind and make a pornographic and violent music video? Words like “Dirty, Cheap, Filthy, Abusive,” are common posts from fans, while others say there’s a deeper meaning behind the music video’s superficial front.
