Myah Sky is back with her third track of the year, “Closure”, a grooving, upbeat single that is sure to be one of your go to bittersweet pick me ups. The young singer/songwriter started her roots in musical theater where she learned to sing and dance as well as jazz and classical piano between her two art focused schools, Conti Academy of Performing Arts and Miskin Theatre College. Music has always been her passion and it was only a matter of time before her talents filtered into electronic dance music. She has garnered support from BBC Radio 1 and worked along side producer Dr Vades and fellow songwriter JKay.
“Closure” pairs electric piano chords with Myah’s vocals as a slow introduction before jumping into the drum n bass inspired rhythm. She pulls in some string instrument elements into the harmony between the chorus, nodding back to that classical and music theater background. Myah expertly layers in all of these elements together that paint an interesting contrast to the somber lyrics. Myah had this to say about why she paired the two up,
It’s a powerful track and although I want people to identify the pain behind my lyrics, I also love the contrast of the production – so upbeat and easy to vibe to!
