Maryland based DJ and producer Necatuss is hard at work preparing for the full release his first album, titled ‘Of Myths And Fables. The album is certain to be one of a kind as it will be a blending of Necatuss’ cinematic electronic productions with his Irish heritage and culture. Necatuss has promised that one track will be released each week until the album is fully distributed. Necatuss aka Patrick Soper is a graduate of the esteemed School of Art Institute in Chicago. In addition to playing the clubs in Chicago, Necatuss has also embarked on philanthropy work in Haiti and even started his own music school there.
The first track off his album, ‘Belenus: Over The Horizon’ was released today and we couldn’t be more in love. The track starts off by giving us a nostalgic feel and sounds like a blending of The Lord of The Rings and Game of Thrones soundtracks. The track then lives up to Necatuss’ distinct style and brings us crashing into a dark bass realm that kicks the track into high gear. Per the track’s description, “Belenus also referred to as Belerion or Beli Mawr, Is The god of the shining sun in Celtic Folklore. Imagery of Belenus commonly depicts him to be accompanied by a female, thought to be the Gaulish deity Belisama. His depiction is found more commonly in the Eastern Alps and Gallia Cisalpina, but there is evidence that the popularity of the god became more widespread in the Roman period”.
With the power of the gods at his side, we await for the next track to be released off the album. Stay safe, stay positive, and we’ll keep you all updated as more Necatuss tracks drop.
