Neon Tiger has been busy with single releases, the latest track being “Summer”, a funkadelic fusion of 80’s ballad riffs, warm vocals, and uplifting lyrics describing the perfect paradise to ride out those long summer nights. The LA based producer, Maarcos, has been cultivating his new presence in the world of EDM, orchestrating his music to combine a new-age feel to a retro, vintage sound. His music career started off with a band called Those Usual Suspects before he started to take on his new solo project as Neon Tiger. “Summer” has quickly followed his last release, “Neon Rose”, both tracks fitting into this unique genre pocket he has created. As we suspected, these rapid drops are leading up to his first album, Paperback Sunset, that will be available July 28th. Maarcos went as far as learning guitar specifically for this album and plans to incorporate tracks that have a cinematic touch to them, something that isn’t common, if it all, in electronic music.
Each one of Neon Tiger’s tracks takes on some sort of story or completely immersing you in a scene. While “Neon Rose” was about star-crossed lovers trapped inside of their own world, “Summer” is about never wanting to leave a perfect day on an island with the best company you could ask for. Getting more into the featured track itself, “Summer” has a beat that is uplifting and the melodies are playful, with eccentric synth scales balanced out by a laid back guitar and groovy back beat. He even threw in some Daft Punk-esque vocalization towards the end, really bringing in those older elements from EDM. We’re excited to see what his album has for us and more of this very unique style. You can keep your eyes on “Summer”, available to stream on Soundcloud and Spotify now.
