“Release Me (feat. Tom Bailey)” by Nick Peters makes me reflect on a few things. The Tipsy Tortoise (now Tipsy Records) originally started out as a tropical house channel, now it’s a full blown deep house / chill house / pop house label that lands huge plays with every release. The label evolved as audiences tastes shifted over time.
They continue to do this today, Nick Peters proves this exactly and then some. The tempo and uplifting, relaxing vibe is still the same as when tropical house started, but nearly everything else is different – the drop is cello-based, the instrumentals are almost entirely indie-music based, but the percussion maintains a chill house center that the listeners love.
Nick Peters has a perfect fit with the path of what Tipsy Records is doing right now. “Release Me (feat. Tom Bailey)” is where it’s at.
