Nocturnal Wonderland Artist Spotlight: Matador

The first thought that came to mind after seeing the Nocturnal Wonderland lineup was the impressive techno selection. One of this years must see artists is Irish techno music producer Gavin Lynch, aka Matador. Gavin’s signature deep melodic style has really taken over the techno scene these past few years. He has made quite a name for himself as a member of both ENTER and Richie Hawtin’s Minus label. This year may be Matador’s most successful year yet. He started 2016 with a bang when he announced his new label brand Rukus and the release of his first LP Ructions. Last month, he released a two song remixes EP with his Ructions chart topper “The Enemy”, featuring talented producers Hot Since 82 and Julian Jeweil. Julian Jeweil’s remix currently holds a spot in the top ten of Beatport’s top 100 techno chart.

As far as performances, Matador has been touring nonstop all around the world. Matador’s performances stand out amongst his fellow DJ/producer peers due to his live show setup. His sets incorporate the use of midi controllers, samplers, and effects to create a live show for the audience. The good news is he will be bringing his live set to Nocturnal Wonderland September 2-4 at San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernardino, CA. Set times haven’t been released just yet, but make sure you keep Matador in mind when putting together your festival schedule!
