After much anticipation, Nora En Pure has finally released her new EP Conquer Yosemite, and it’s unequivocally breathtaking. As the EP’s title alludes to, the Swiss-based DJ has masterfully crafted 5 monumental tracks, featuring a blend of deep house and future house sounds. We were first given a taste of this new EP’s soundscape when Pete Tong premiered its track “Diving with Whales” on his BBC Radio 1 show back in December. The single went on to receive wild exposure and support from fans and DJ’s alike, including a stunning techno-infused remix by Daniel Portman.
Recently on Nora En Pure’s Facebook page, she expressed that “This (EP) is a little piece of me and my soul. Those 5 tracks are the most personal work I did up to date.” Out now on Enormous Tunes, Conquer Yosemite EP is beaming with Nora En Pure’s signature piano riffs and melodic sound, beautifully echoing influences of her South African roots, and is a solid display of her impeccable attention to detail.
Opening the EP is “Caught in the Act,” featuring a playful, upbeat tempo that’s built with sultry vocals and deep breaks.
The next track, “Make Me Love You,” begins with the sensual melody Nora En Pure fans love most about her music, before surprising with an epic bass drop that stomps its way through deep and meaningfully.
Following this is the EP’s first released single, “Diving with Whales,” a track that truly holds its own as it exhibits Nore En Pure’s exquisite use of piano chords backed by an infectious tempo that makes for a quality club track.
Last of the original mixes is “Freedom Lives Within,” a track that is truly 7 minutes of pure bliss; it’s layered with serene sounds and, of course, gorgeous piano notes, culminating into a euphoric tune that will ease your mind, body, and soul.
Similar to how Nora En Pure ends all of her Purified podcasts, she closes out Conquer Yosemite EP with a bonus chill out remix that will reveal a little slice of seventh heaven to your senses and makes for an epic finale.
It’s true that 2016 was an impressive year for the talented Daniela Niederer, a.k.a Nora En Pure, with the massive success of her Lake Arrowhead EP, but this latest treasure convinces us this year is going to be even more incredible.
