It wouldn’t be summer without an Above & Beyond festival set. But in addition to your Jono / Paavo / Tony sightings, the British trio’s label is bringing Maor Levi and Norin & Rad to clubs around the country from July through September. These artists are mainstays of the Anjunabeats imprint and a powerful combo that will make for a night of hearty music.
Norin & Rad
“As two (or should that be three!) of the most exciting and forward-thinking producers around, it is great to have them representing the family,” Tony McGuinness affirms. Norin & Rad closed out the Anjunabeats Volume 10 Launch Party at the Roseland Ballroom in February, but it hardly felt like an ending. Their catchy track “Aldo”, featured on the compilation, has been getting hearts pumping for months now.
Maor Levi
Perhaps even more exciting to me is an impending visit from Maor Levi. The Israeli DJ has a handful of popular tracks at the moment that exemplify his grasp on a spectrum of music from emotive trance to progressive house. Above & Beyond currently have Maor’s track “Holding On” on heavy rotation, it’s an uplifting song with a beautifully profound message that the DJ explains in a SoundCloud clip below.
The track’s release inspired Maor to put together a special Anjunabeats Worldwide mix, which also features his remix of “Skylarking.” Plus, his collaboration with Boom Jinx and Ashley Tomberlain, “When You Loved Me”. It causes serious chills with its simple melodic bass, strumming guitar effect, and vocals that ooze with feeling. Yes, I’m a fan.
