Just in time for the weekend, we’ve got an exclusive mix from our favorite House of Yes resident DJ, NSR.
For those of you who aren’t familiar, NSR is infamously known as a member of the ubiquitous NYC house music posse, The Deep, and a founder of the DIY pop-up party, Might Get Weird. As a DJ, he’s spent years honing his craft in brooding Brooklyn warehouses and NYC institutions like Output & Cielo. This New York native has also held residencies in Tokyo, Southeast Asia, Dominican Republic, and Miami. His sets are notorious for being influenced by the vibes of his setting and the type of crowd he’s playing on any given night; there’s always a pinch of mystery about what to expect when you head to Brooklyn to see him. In this exclusive mix, NSR offers enchanting house sounds full of old school feels that are thread along by exotic drums—and we’re kind of obsessed with it. Here’s a little more about the mix straight from the player’s mouth:
“With this mix I tried recreating the magical environment and atmosphere that emerges whenever I get to play House of Yes. The energy in the room is always incredibly strong and they always bring in such an amazing crowd that’s ready to dance all night long. Every time I step into House of Yes, I never approach my set with a specific agenda, it depends on the vibe of the room, what the headliner is playing, and my mood that day.”
