Leave any expectations you have for the Enormous Tunes vs NoXcuses North American bus tour at the door because this group of artists will exceed them leaving you to wish the night would never end.
The tour kicked off in the Nations Capitol hosted by Nu Androids via their new project A.i., a pop-up auditory experience to explore new opportunities in custom productions to create more than just a night out in a club. Screens were suspended from three separate walls so not only were you surrounded by music, but also colorful visuals no matter which way you faced. From the moment you walked in you could tell they had succeeded intheir goal because this was no average night.
In my experience it’s very rare to enter an event and immediately be met with a large dance circle, attendees shuffling in the center, enjoying the music instead of crowding the front. Antonio Giacca had taken the booth and displayed the magic he can create with a crowd. The energy he created between the attendees with his music was something to smile about and the vibe he induced set the tone for the remainder of the night.
As the night continued the crowd thickened and the energy continued to grow. Nora En Pure brought out her classics such as “Come With Me,” and her new track “Morning Dew,” yet her set was far from cookie cutter. Her uptempo funky beats mixed with her chill vibe mentioned in our preview article made their appearance. She played off the energy of the crowd and the smile that never faltered from her face solidified her love for what she does.
What continued to amaze was how the energy never dipped. EDX took the booth and picked up where the other artists left off. EDX’s long time presence in the music scene projected itself in his set and showed he has no plans of slowing down anytime soon. He graced us with his 2016 release of “Missing” ft. Mingue, a modern day version of Everything but the Girl’s popular single released in 1994 as well as his remix of Robin Shulz’s “Sugar,” a personal favorite. He later gave us a remix of Calvin Harris’s “How Deep is Your Love,” which was a hit with the crowd. His spin on the track gave it an uptempo heavy hitting beat subsequently creating even more movement from the crowd.
Last, but certainly not least, Croatia Squad closed out the night. It was late, but there were still just as many people present, making it clear that no one planned on missing a single moment of such an eventful night. He brought his bass bumping beats and tech house twists and did not hold back. By the end of it all he had people surrounding him on stage leaving everyone to wonder if the floor would collapse from beneath them.
While Nu Android’s A.i. project and excited attitudes brought by the crowd made this experience amazing on its own, the artist’s obvious display of love for what they do will make every stop on this tour unforgettable and unique. It’s clear they want to give fans more than just a great show, they want to create an experience that will leave a mark long after the night ends and the music stops.
Check out A.i.’s next pop-up event featuring Hermitude, Friday, March 4th.
