Learning to make music isn’t an easy task; it’s a ton to learn and many artists often self teach as classes are expensive, or they don’t know what resources to use to learn. Because it’s a lot to learn, many get discouraged. So what if we told you you could take a class for free?
NYU is offering a music production and theory course that is absolutely free, and is perfect for those interested in the field! They teach you the ropes; everything you’ll ever need to know, using your own computer at home with music you already know and love.
While there has been previous versions of the course, none compare to this one. Due to a new partnership with Soundfly, you have the ability to turn your computer into an instrument itself and get into your lessons with your favorite music and other music videos, rather than taking the course passively based on what you’ve learned.
In addition to learning the basics, you’ll receive expert instruction in basic music theory, learn cool ins and outs of producing music and use valuable tools like Ableton and Scratch. You’ll also learn key components of music sharing services like Soundcloud. Disclosure, Stevie Wonder and MGMT are among a few names of music you’ll be working with to learn how professional recordings are made, produced, mixed and mastered!
Could you ask for anything better? We know you’re all dying to jump on the course, so here’s the link below!
